Memorial Park Bench & Tree Program

Through the Memorial Bench & Tree Program, relatives and friends can provide a unique dedication to loved ones by placing a tree or bench in one of South St. Paul’s parks or along a City trail. This dedication provides a lasting remembrance in honor of a loved one and enhances the meaning of a bench or tree to observers. The gift is also a valuable contribution to the park system to be used and enjoyed by all.

Dedications will occur annually, ensuring organized planning and meaningful ceremonies. Your understanding is appreciated as we help create lasting memorials for your loved ones.

Benches

The City of South St. Paul will provide a concrete pad for the bench and also secure it for you. Benches are made from recycled materials in cedar color, providing low maintenance and UV protection. An engraved 6" × 4" plaque will be attached to the bench.

A tree or park bench may be placed in the park of your choice in honor of a loved one.

The City of South St. Paul will plant and care for your tree and replace it if it becomes damaged or diseased.

Should you choose to donate a bench to be placed in one of the City parks or along one of the City's public trails, a plaque will be placed on the bench in memory of your loved one.
