Simon's Ravine Trailhead
Discover the gateway to a scenic adventure at Simon's Ravine Trailhead, a key access point to the Dakota County River to River Greenway regional trail system. Opened in 2007, this trailhead connects the community westward through Kaposia Park and eastward to the Mississippi River Trail, weaving through Kaposia Landing and along the majestic Mississippi River.
Named in honor of early settlers John and Anna Simon, who acquired the property in 1878, Simon's Ravine Trailhead reflects the area's historical significance while serving as a welcoming hub for trail users.
Amenities include off-street parking, a modern restroom building, drinking fountains for both visitors and pets, and a striking Native American heritage sculpture. The trailhead also features the Memory Path—offering personalized paver bricks to commemorate loved ones and moments.
Open year-round, Simon's Ravine Trailhead invites visitors to experience the natural and cultural beauty of South St. Paul in every season.
