South St. Paul - A Proven Partner in Transforming Vision to Reality
South St. Paul is proud that the businesses represented below have chosen our City for their long-term commitment and investment.
The Backyards
Hopkins-based real estate development firm, The Beard Group, has completed the first phase of its luxury apartment building, The Yards, and is nearing completion of the second phase, The Backyards. This expansion will add 126 units, featuring a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments.
Like The Yards, The Backyards will offer premium amenities, including a fitness center, community room, underground parking, and a rooftop deck. Additionally, the project will feature an interactive wall art display celebrating the city’s history. This includes a panel depicting the Mississippi River surrounded by historic South St. Paul landmarks such as Kaposia Village and the stockyards. Both buildings will incorporate interactive, cow-related art—paying homage to the city’s stockyard legacy while embracing its future.
Bremer Bank
As part of a modernization effort, Bremer Bank has proposed a new two-story branch on the northern portion of its existing site. The new 7,500-square-foot office and banking space will provide a more contemporary layout suited to today’s banking needs. Once the new building is complete, the existing four-story office building is expected to be redeveloped for a new use.
AVM Construction
AVM Construction, an Eagan-based general contractor, received approval in June 2020 to construct a 21,200-square-foot multi-suite office and warehouse building at 121 Hardman Court. Originally planned as part of a professional park within BridgePoint, the site was instead developed for light industrial use due to market demand for manufacturing and warehouse space.
The new facility includes four separate suites and a screened exterior storage area for AVM Construction and other tenants. The building received its certificate of occupancy in early 2021.
