Police Chaplains

Police Chaplain Program

Launched in the fall of 2002, the South St. Paul Police Department’s Chaplain Program has become a vital part of the organization. The chaplains’ volunteer work supports the Police Department while they also maintain responsibilities within their respective churches and ministries.

Currently, six chaplains volunteer their time to serve on an on-call basis. Each chaplain is assigned a seven-day on-call shift each month and participates in regular training and development. They are often seen visiting staff at the station or riding along with officers during patrols.

The chaplains support various functions within the Police Department, offering assistance to officers, staff, their families,Police Chaplains September 23, 2004 and the broader community.
