INCIDENT: Death Investigation

On May 8th, 2022 at approximately 10:42 p.m., officers of the South St. Paul Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of Conver Avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers located a male laying in the road with apparent gun shot wound(s) to the upper torso. Responding officers, along with staff from the South Metro Fire Department and M Health Fairview provided emergency medical aid on scene and the seventeen year old male was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene.
Through their preliminary investigation, detectives with the South St. Paul Police Department have learned that this does not appear to be a random act and there appears to be no imminent threat to the general public.
An investigation into this death is being conducted by the South St. Paul Police Department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
