The South St. Paul Great Pod-kin Patch

Thurs, October 23 | 6:30–8 p.m. | City Hall

Join the South St. Paul Mayor’s Youth Task Force, the South St. Paul Sustainability Task Force, Complete Weddings & Events, and Neighbors, Inc. for the 2nd Annual SSP Great Pod-kin Patch — a creative and family-friendly event to raise funds and collect laundry detergent donations for Neighbors, Inc.

The Great Pod-kin Patch is a glowing outdoor display made from upcycled laundry pod containers and other recycled items, all decorated by residents, youth, and community groups. The patch will be lit from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in front of South St. Paul City Hall.

This year’s event includes a Pod-kin decorating contest with three categories:

  • Children ages 12 and under
  • Ages 13 and up
  • “All Things South St. Paul” theme

Winners will receive a ribbon, gift cards, and a feature on the City’s Facebook page.

To enter, decorate an upcycled container using paint, carving, permanent marker, or clipart (kid-friendly and non-political designs only), and drop it off with a donation of laundry soap or a monetary contribution to support Neighbors, Inc. Entries must be received by Monday, October 21 and submitted to Deb Griffith.

During the event, the Mayor’s Youth Task Force will host the SSP Local Lemon Stand with fall refreshments for all to enjoy.
