Community Affairs & Volunteer Opportunities

The Community Affairs Office is dedicated to fostering community ownership by providing residents with opportunities to give back. Through volunteering and participation in local events, residents play a vital role in shaping South St. Paul.

Seasonal Volunteer Opportunities

Each year, the city offers a variety of seasonal volunteer programs during the spring, summer, and fall months. Opportunities include:

  • Blooming Parks – Help beautify our parks with seasonal plantings and maintenance.
  • Streets in Bloom – Contribute to the community’s curb appeal by assisting with flower planting and care.
  • Adopt a Street – Take responsibility for keeping a section of South St. Paul clean and litter-free.

New programs are introduced regularly, giving residents even more ways to support their community.

Community Events – One-Time Volunteer Opportunities

South St. Paul hosts numerous events and activities that rely on volunteers. Some of our annual opportunities include:

  • River and Park Clean-Up – Help maintain our parks and natural spaces.
  • The Great Halloween Get-Together – Assist with activities and festivities for families.

Additional special events and activities pop up throughout the year, offering more chances to get involved.
