The City, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Council, has approved a grant for South St. Paul residents to assist with the following eligible work:
- Private sewer lateral repair or replacement
- Foundation drain disconnections and installation of a new sump pump, if required as part of the foundation drain disconnect
- Sewer lateral inspection and cleaning costs if:
- The applicant meets the equity need, or
- Inspection and cleaning result in repair or replacement of the sewer lateral
Grant awards cover 50% of eligible costs, up to $5,000. For private property owners meeting their municipality’s equity criteria, the grant award may increase up to $10,000.
Eligible work must be completed between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.
South St. Paul residents may apply for this grant by submitting the application below. Each household is eligible for one grant unless additional funds remain. Applicants will be notified if selected. Funds are limited and may not be available to everyone at time of rebate application.
Work must be completed after grant approval. Once the work is finished, applicants must submit copies of invoices and photos or inspection reports for verification. Grant payments will be issued after acceptance into the program.
Funds are limited. Applicants are not guranteed full grant reimbursement if funds are available.
