Assessment Payment
When the City Council approves an assessment amount, property owners have 30 days from the hearing date to pay the full amount without interest. An invoice for the approved amount will be sent to the property owner and payment should be made to the City of South St. Paul’s Engineering Department within this 30-day period.
Certified Assessments
After 30 days, any unpaid assessment amount is certified to Dakota County and will be collected through property taxes. Once certified, all assessment payments must be made directly to Dakota County.
