Experience the rich history and natural beauty of Kaposia Park, a beloved South St. Paul landmark established in 1937 as part of a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the Great Depression. Spanning 85 acres, the park is rooted in local heritage, having once been the site of a Dakota Indian village established in 1826.
The park features a mostly natural landscape with mature trees and varied terrain, including Simon’s Ravine. This scenic ravine connects to a paved Dakota County regional trail and the River to River Greenway, offering outstanding opportunities for outdoor exploration.
Kaposia Park's iconic enclosed log pavilion is available to rent and includes indoor restrooms and a kitchen area. Other amenities include a picnic shelter, small ball field, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, and a playground.
The park is also home to a renowned 27-hole disc golf course, known for hosting state, regional, and international tournaments. Thanks to local sponsors, the course recently received new baskets. Sponsorship opportunities are available and can be used to honor individuals, promote businesses, or support this cherished community resource.
