The Finance Department’s mission is to safeguard city assets, provide timely and high-quality services to internal and external customers, and continuously seek positive improvements.
Services Provided
The Finance Department is responsible for managing the City’s financial operations, including:
Issuing bonds or other forms of city debt
Administering grants and intergovernmental revenue
Managing billing and collection for public utilities
Collecting revenues and investing idle funds
Processing payments for city purchases
Preparing financial and budget reports
Processing payroll for all city employees
Assisting with the five-year Capital Improvement Plan
Overseeing financial management and accounting for all city funds
Coordinating with Dakota County to maintain special assessment records
