The City has retained Castle Rock Contracting and Tree Removal to begin removing over 800 dead or dying ash trees throughout the City that have been impacted by Emerald Ash Borer. Work will start on Monday, October 2nd and will continue for the next 4 – 6 weeks. Work will begin in the area of the City south of 494. Public Works will be posting no parking signs in advance of the trees being removed to ensure they can be safely and effectively removed. Once all trees are removed, public works will be working to remove the tree stumps as time allows. Due to the volume of tree stumps and difficulty removing them, it will take our Public Works Department until the end of 2024 to remove all stumps.
