Xcel Energy gas main work along Marie Avenue between 8th Avenue N and 9th Avenue is scheduled to begin on May 12th and take approximately one week. This work is being done in advance of the proposed 2025 Marie Avenue Reconstruction Project from 3rd Avenue to 9th Avenue.
In 2026, the City of South St. Paul is proposing to reconstruct Marie Avenue from 9th Avenue to 21st Avenue. Preliminary design and preparation of a feasibility report is underway. A topographic survey of the project area is scheduled to begin the week of May 12th as part of the preliminary design. This will require locating public and private utilities in the area. Crews may take multiple days to mark and survey the area. Please be mindful of workers as you are driving through the site.
